Leadership Support Forums

It can be lonely at the top. It can be lonely when you don’t know anyone in a similar situation to yourself.

In the Oscar winning movie The Kings Speech, there is a moving moment when the speech therapist says, “What are friends for?” and King George VI replies, “I wouldn’t know”.

Who is on your personal support team? Do you have an encourager? Do you have a supporter? Do you have someone who challenges you? Do you have a mentor? Do you have someone who will just listen and let you talk things out?

There are times when you need someone to talk to who is not directly involved in your situation. Being part of a private group of people who are in similar situations can be a real tonic. Realising that others are experiencing or have experienced similar things, confidentially talking through your challenges with them and helping them talk through their challenges can help unlock ways to deal with whatever you are confronted with.

I am currently facilitating a group of charity CEOs, a group of leaders who are working on leadership challenges and groups for women in leadership. Suggestions for new focus areas are welcome.

If you are interested in joining a group

Following an initial phone conversation to understand your needs, we put together a small group of people who may be facing similar challenges. We then work with the group to develop a programme to suit them and agree how often to meet. All sessions are currently running online.

If you are interested, we would love to chat with you and discover whether your needs fall into the potential groups.

I didn’t know this was something I needed until I attended a session.
